The company's history can be traced back to the Fujiheng Machinery Factory established in 1900. As one of the 156 key projects aided by the Soviet Union during China's First Five-Year Plan period, the enterprise bears witness to a century of memories in China's shipbuilding industry.
Throughout its journey spanning three centuries, Wuhu Shipyard has achieved a cumulative total of 41 "firsts" in China's shipbuilding industry, led or participated in the formulation of over 60 national and industry standards, and holds 233 authorized patents along with 82 key core technologies. The company has established a range of scientific research platforms, including a provincial-level enterprise technology center, a special vessel engineering R&D center, a third-tier national defense metrology technology center, a postdoctoral research workstation, the Yaoguang Laboratory, a deep-sea equipment laboratory, and an innovation center, continuously driving technological advancement and independent innovation in the shipbuilding industry.
The company's headquarters in Wuhu is located in the Sanshan Economic Development Zone, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It covers an area of 1.2107 million square meters, with a total shoreline length of 1,355 meters. The facility is equipped with two 80,000-ton berths and a 740-meter outfitting quay. The Weihai base spans 680 mu (approximately 453,333 square meters) and has an annual output value of up to 5 billion yuan. The Nantong base occupies about 3,000 mu (approximately 2 million square meters), featuring two 300,000-ton dry docks and a total shoreline of over 1,200 meters. With advanced facilities and significant scale, the three bases work in synergy to form a modern shipbuilding industrial platform that leads in domestic scale, boasts first-class equipment, and enjoys a well-structured layout.
Today, continues to focus on its core shipbuilding business while actively building a "shipbuilding+" ecological industrial cluster. Its product portfolio covers a wide range of vessel types, including tankers, bulk carriers, new energy vessels, offshore engineering vessels, special-purpose vessels, and multi-purpose ships. Notably, its tanker products have been listed among the "World's Top Ten Notable Ships" and recognized as "Innovative Ship Products in China," earning widespread acclaim in both domestic and international markets.
