Yu Jumei, born in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province of sea into rivers, has an ocean dream and a sea plot. She is looking forward to working with the marine career after growing up. In the year when she graduated from senior high school in 2010, she finally had the opportunity to add wings to her dream. She chose the Jiangsu University of Science and Technology's ship and ocean engineering major for her first college entrance examination and was accepted as a wish. After graduating from undergraduate studies, she continued to pursue a master's degree in shipbuilding and marine structure manufacturing.

After the master's degree, Yu Jumei went to the north of the river with her lover, and came to Wuhu from Nantong, and chose to join the Wuhu Shipyard. Why did you choose Wuhu shipyard among many shipyards? Yu Jumei said: “Because the WS is an old shipyard and a national key military shipyard, with more than one hundred years of cultural heritage and accumulation, the great leader Chairman Mao visited it on September 20, 1958. It is choosing WS that lets me take a step closer to the ambition and dream of the development of China's shipbuilding industry.” On August 12, 2014, Yu Jumei officially joined Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd. and became a technical designer.

Grow up fast

At the beginning of the work, for the initial entry into the workplaces, Yu Jumei also caused confusion, and felt that many of the knowledge learned in the school was used for work. In the face of troubles, she did not feel discouraged, but spent more time studying shipbuilding knowledge and improving design capabilities. Sure enough, “Hard work pays off.” finally, Yu Jumei got rid of the confusion of entering the workplace through her own efforts, and gradually grew into a member of the main force of the technical quality center design team.

In 2019, Yu Jumei was transferred to the bidding project team, participated in the preparation, planning and preparation of several major bidding targets of the company. Faced with hundreds of data, reports, and design charts every day, she has no impetuousness and retreat. She always completes every work in project team with careful and meticulous attitude, strong anti-stress ability, and persistence in pursuing the ultimate perseverance. In order to keep up with the progress, it is common practice to work overtime and stay up late for the weekend. She never complains, even when she is sick, she still sticks to her job.

Achieve success

In August 2019, the winning bid for a military project was released in Beijing, and the company won 640 million big orders. The good news have been came. The bidding project team cheered for it, and the whole shipyard was excited. Yu Jumei said: “This successful bid has condensed the wisdom and hard work of the entire team. As far as I am concerned, my experience is limited and my qualifications are still very shallow. This achievement depends entirely on the correct guidance of the leaders and the full support of my colleagues. The bidding book was actually prepared for more than a year. From the initial version, it has undergone numerous overthrows and improvements. This success is the result of solidarity and joint efforts. ” “At the same time, this in-depth participation in the winning bidding project I deeply felt that I still have a lot of deficiencies. After a month of intense and busy preparation work, I felt that I was less guilty, more modest and cautious, and learned a lot of valuable experiences from leaders and colleagues.”

Yu Jumei, in daily life, is a person who likes to be quiet. Usually, the family will go to the bookstore to read books. Occasionally, she want to practice yoga, cultivate mind, as well as play badminton and park jogging exercise.
