On January 6, 2026, Wuhu Shipyard achieved an auspicious start to the Year of the Horse by successfully signing a construction contract with a Turkish shipowner for 2+2 units of 64,500 DWT bulk carriers. This landmark deal establishes a solid foundation for the company's inaugural phase of the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
The signing ceremony was attended and completed by the Chairman of the Turkish shipowner Aqmaris, Mr. Zhang Zhao, Chairman of Wuhu Shipyard, and Mr. Zhu Qi, General Manager of Yingxing Financial Leasing.

The Chairman of Aqmaris expressed high recognition for Wuhu Shipyard's construction capabilities and product quality. He stated that this cooperation stems from full confidence in Wuhu Shipyard's technical strength and industry reputation. He looks forward to potential collaboration on other vessel projects and hopes this contract serves as an opportunity for deeper and broader cooperation with both Wuhu Shipyard and Yingxing Financial Leasing.
The contracted 64,500 DWT bulk carriers feature a new-generation "Dolphin" type Ultramax design. This vessel type closely aligns with the shipping industry's trends toward low-carbon operations and digitalization. It is optimized for the latest international environmental regulations and navigation requirements, boasting notable features of safety, efficiency, environmental friendliness, and intelligence.
In terms of energy saving and environmental protection, the vessel incorporates a hull form optimization, a high-efficiency propulsion system, and energy-saving devices. Combined with main and auxiliary engines compliant with IMO Tier III standards, it significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions, meets EEDI Phase III requirements, and can be adapted for high-voltage shore power and lithium battery packs to enable green operations. The structural design, based on the latest regulations, achieves optimal deadweight and cargo hold capacity while ensuring safety and fatigue strength, resulting in greater cargo flexibility.

The vessel is also equipped with an intelligent navigation and energy efficiency management system, providing an integrated cybersecurity solution. It delivers functionalities for intelligent navigation, engine room management, and energy efficiency optimization, comprehensively enhancing the vessel's operational economy and environmental performance. The signing of this construction contract firmly establishes the company's strategic focus on high-end, green, and intelligent shipbuilding during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
As the first order secured at the beginning of this new planning period, Wuhu Shipyard will uphold the spirit of "exquisite craftsmanship and excellence in every vessel." The company will meticulously organize production, enforce strict management, and dedicate full efforts to building high-quality ships, embracing the new journey with tangible achievements. The curtain has risen on 2026. With steadfast determination and a pragmatic spirit, Wuhu Shipyard is joining hands with its partners to embark on a new chapter and compose a new future.
