On May 26, the company successfully held the steel cutting ceremony for two 6,600 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers built for the shipowner. Company leaders, representatives of the shipowner, guests from ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), and the supervision party attended the ceremony, jointly witnessing this important milestone.

The 6,600 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker series that started construction this time is a benchmark product of Wuhu Shipyard in the field of high-end green liquid cargo vessels, representing an optimized and upgraded version of the classic 6,600 dwt DC electric propulsion stainless steel chemical tanker. The vessel has an overall length of 113.6 meters, a molded breadth of 17.6 meters, a molded depth of 9.0 meters, and a design draft of 6.8 meters. It features a double bottom and double hull structure, equipped with 12 independent cargo tanks made of 2205 duplex stainless steel, capable of safely carrying a variety of highly corrosive chemicals and meeting the high-cleanliness transportation requirement of ‘one tank per product.

The vessel’s propulsion system adopts the world’s first DC electric propulsion technology combined with a methanol dual-fuel ready design, reducing fuel consumption by approximately 10% and achieving emissions that fully exceed IMO Tier III standards, offering both economic and environmental advantages. Additionally, it integrates four major intelligent systems: intelligent navigation, intelligent engine room, intelligent energy efficiency, and intelligent cargo management, enabling full-lifecycle intelligent control. This represents the advanced level of current small and medium-sized high-end chemical tankers.

As a key vessel type for the company’s batch construction, the 6,600 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker series has delivered a total of 5 units to date, establishing a mature construction system and efficient production rhythm.
