On July 22, 2026, a delegation comprising climate officials from 23 countries across the Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe regions, along with 24 technical experts from the UNFCCC Secretariat and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), visited Wuhu Shipyard. The century-old shipyard served as the first on-site training venue for the CGE Regional Training on Climate Change for the Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe regions ever held in China. The delegation toured the shipyard to learn first-hand about the shipbuilding industry's green and low-carbon transition practices.

The delegation toured Wuhu Shipyard's Green Technology Exhibition Hall, gaining a systematic understanding of the Company's development history, low-carbon technological transformation achievements, new-energy vessel technology systems, and ESG governance framework. The exhibition hall comprehensively displayed a series of green vessel models—including LNG dual-fuel vessels, methanol-powered vessels, pure electric battery-swapping vessels, and wind-assisted energy-saving vessels—alongside core low-carbon equipment and emission reduction data results. The exhibits vividly illustrated the pollution reduction and carbon abatement pathways across the entire shipbuilding industry chain. Officials from various countries and UN experts frequently paused to ask questions, carefully documenting technical solutions and the outcomes of their implementation.

Following the tour, the two sides held a special seminar and exchange session. The relevant person in charge of Wuhu Shipyard delivered a special report around three major pillars—Green Wuhu Shipyard, Green Products, and Green Ecosystem—fully sharing the Company's practical experience in aligning with the national “dual carbon” strategy and advancing the green, intelligent, and sustainable transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry across all fronts.

The delegates and UN experts highly commended Wuhu Shipyard's industrial decarbonization practices, noting that the relevant experience could serve as a valuable reference for developing countries in enhancing climate transparency compliance and reducing emissions from transport and shipping. Looking ahead, Wuhu Shipyard will continue to deepen its efforts in green vessel and energy storage technologies, and leverage the South-South cooperation platform to share China's manufacturing low-carbon transition experience, contributing to global climate governance.
