On February 11, the company celebrated a "double harvest" of signings, concluding two major cooperation agreements on the same day — a contract for the construction of two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers with Shanghai Ruining Shipping Co., Ltd., and a contract for the construction of four 8,000 dwt general cargo vessels with India's JSW Group.
First Cooperation: +2 82,000 dwt Bulk Carriers

This first collaboration between Wuhu Shipyard and Shanghai Ruining Shipping marks the formal establishment of a strategic partnership. As a wholly-owned shipping subsidiary of China Huaneng Group, Shanghai Ruining Shipping is primarily tasked with the core mission of ensuring energy logistics and thermal coal supply for power plants along the Yangtze River and coastal regions. It stands as a key backbone force in China’s national energy security system.
The two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers will sail under the Chinese flag and be classed with the China Classification Society (CCS). Fully compliant with the latest international environmental standards, the vessels will feature energy-efficient hull lines, green power technologies, and an intelligent energy management system, while also being retrofit-ready for zero-carbon propulsion. With benchmark quality, Wuhu Shipyard is committed to helping its partner optimize fleet structure and enhance energy supply security, as they jointly embark on a new journey toward green shipping.
Renewed Partnership: +4* 8,000 dwt General Cargo Vessels
Wuhu Shipyard has signed another contract with India's JSW Group for four 8,000 dwt general cargo ships, marking their fourth cooperation after the smooth delivery of 10 bulk carriers. The 10 vessels previously delivered, characterized by efficient construction lead times and robust build quality, have won the shipyard high acclaim and full confidence from the client.

As a leading industrial conglomerate and globally renowned shipowner in India, JSW Group’s repeat orders serve as a powerful testament to Wuhu Shipyard’s technical expertise, construction quality, and performance credibility. Wuhu Shipyard remains committed to lean manufacturing standards, strictly adhering to quality control and schedule management to ensure the delivery of high-quality vessels through strong performance fulfillment.
The newly contracted sister vessels measure 122 meters in length overall, with a molded depth of 7.2 meters and a molded breadth of 20 meters. Designed with double-bottom construction, the ships adopt conventional diesel-powered propulsion systems, featuring twin-screw, twin-rudder configuration, two cargo holds, and hydraulic folding hatch covers. Classed with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass), the vessels are tailored for the coastal transportation of bulk cargoes within India’s near-sea trading areas. With exceptional economic performance and operational flexibility, they will further optimize JSW Group’s fleet composition and enhance its global logistics efficiency.
